This will require substantial changes to Path Finder, so we’ll investigate this as a possible feature for Path Finder 6.

Pretty please! I like many of the functional additions in PF6 (thanks!), but the blue tabs, status bar, and path are really uncomfortable—even ugly—IMO. I've always felt the same about the blue sidebar too, but I usually keep it hidden so it's never been a big deal.

I agree with this too... but if/when it gets implemented, I hope they are able to do it without adding more "buttons" to the UX.

Whahahah... look at how much persuasion my 3 votes had. ; )
Thanks Michael, you're awesome!

Am I really the only person interested in this? (Or did I miss a similar suggestion elsewhere?)
I think when Snow Leopard comes out and people are able to do it easily, it will land on more people's radar. :)

I would like to see this taken a step further and include "view" themes. For example, I have a significant amount of independent folders that I only keep photos within. In each, I have file names hidden and on the right, background to a dark gray, and size maxed to 256px. It turns it into a thumb gallery.
It's a pain to configure each one—and the only other fairly quick option I've found is to configure "every folder" to that view spec, and then go to all the folders I know I'd like to view this way and switch them over to "this folder only" — and then reconfigure "every folder" to what I prefer for default.

Totally agree... there have been many times where I've tried to right-click and "undo" closing my tabs only to be frustratingly reminded that I can't. :)
