          This has been added to Path Finder 6. Select View > Show View Options, then enable “auto resize columns”

          This is what I want Pathfinder to implement right away. All day I work with all kinds of filenames as a photographer/retoucher. This would greatly improve my daily workflow. It shouldn't be too hard to do I don't think? It would be optional. Maybe a setting where when you open a folder it automatically resizes like double clicking on the hash-marks at the bottom of the window.
