Queued files copies displayed in one window
When you launch 2 big files copies (File Copy A, then File copy B), the finder and pathfinder do both file copies at the same time. This is utterly inefficient as the HD head constantly move from file A to File B back and forth to copy a bit of A, then a bit of B. A much more efficient way is to queue the file copy, so the computer copies A, then B at full speed because HD Head moves a lot less. Connectix's disckcopy did that in Mac OS 9 days. It's even worse with copies from network and CD/DVD copies.
Somme refinements : ability to pause and reorder the queue or relaunched a paused copy. Automatic reordering of the queue to start to do the small copies first to maximize the number of user demands in the minimum time. That feature would justify Pathfinder use by itself
A basic single-window copy queue will be included in Path Finder 6.

Great news. But if this feature was completed on 25th of July 2011 why only today did I receive a mail that my votes have been returned to spread them again across other bugs?

When is PathFinder6 coming? PathFinder5 is so broken. Doesn't even refresh changed filenames nor files I drop on the desktop. This is insane...

What about listing all active (and past) file copies as a dedicated 'copy' tab on Pathfinder?
Similar for example to how Chrome can list it's Downloads in one of it's own tabs.
Either way, anything that fixes the current copy popup windows is a win.

Would love this also. Coming from the Windows world, I have had this in Total Commander for the last 10 year at least. I don't understand why this is not a basic function of Mac OS/X which is an advanced OS. In fact ideally queues should for input and output. For input that is for batch processing when you don't want to put your computer on its knees, and output should be copying and printing (which as a matter of fact is a copy). There should be the possibility to old a job in the queue and to change job priority within the queue.
This may not be in the scope of FT (I'm not a Mac programmer so I don't know how big the effort is for this and maybe Apple should look into this).

I would really like a simple "progress-bar" or something similiar embedded in the ordinary Path Finder window that shows how far the copying operation have progressed. And maybe a number next to it that shows how many copying operations there are queued, if there are any.
For example this bar could appear between the "delete" and the "search" button or at the bottom bar next to the disc-info.

if you guys need some pointers there's ultracopier and minicopier (multi platform) and they both offer the source code as well.

1) I really like how Mac combines all the copy windows into one. Having the copy dialogs combined makes it so much easier to use.
2) I like how MS Windows has a little arrow that you can click to display the advanced information. I usually don't need to see how fast my files are copying the whole time, but occasionally I will check.
If these things could be added in along with the the ability to que files, that would be awesome!
I started a new feature page for the above two:

I like to be able, like in system Finder to delete selected files/folders by using "cmd delete". I recall at some point Path Finder actually supporting this....I think. At any rate, I've been unable to do it in a long time and I miss it. Please add the feature in next update or tell me how to activate said feature within terminal. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

Nice.
If you can add in Path Finder 6 the native OS X green button to maximize a window instead of doing a full screen it'll be very great! -

as an ex-windows user, i used a lot xplorer2 (windows explorer replacement, yeah, windows explorer sucks too!! ;)) which has those "queued-move", "queued-copy", pause while copying or moving, "silent/undisrupted" move or copy.. Now i can't live without those features!

I would buy Pathfinder in an instant if it had this feature!! Seems like a frequently requested feature and something that would establish Pathfinder as a market leader. Get it done and watch the $ roll in.

Heck yes! I remember asking about this back in the PF4 days. Would be such an awesome feature!

I've noticed that copying a large amount of small files takes an absurd amount of time - usually I have to cancel and do it in the Finder which is often instant!
Not sure if this relates to queuing but seems relevant.

I would like to merge my request into this one by saying that I would also like to be able to pause queued file copies.
Reasons for such being:
- if the drive you are copying to is starting to get full and you need to go in and delete some cache files first.
- you want another copy process to finish before others complete; e.g. you are doing a large and complicated file copy that you don't want to stop because it is almost done but you are late and you need to go and you need to get that important document you are working on copied onto your thumb drive so you can run out the door.I would add my votes, but it is obvious that it is going to get done, just would like this added to the feature as well. If you agree, add votes here too:

If it means getting it faster, just having a "dumb" queue of FIFO would help enormously. Process Copy A, automatically queue Copy B, Copy C. Once A is finished, on to Copy B. Any ETA on this? It's clearly the most popular request and it's been so for years.
