Well make sure you don't use any of the many applications made by Apple that delete objects by pressing only the delete key. The delete key is a standard everywhere else and is an annoying inconsistency in Apple's look and feel. I'm all for making it an option but I'm at a loss for why so many people seem to have so much religion about not adding it. I've seen requests on the forum dating back to 2006 for the function. I just found the Path Finder utility and would register it today if it supported one key delete.

Default behavior must be the as the Finder. That feature, if implemented, must be a user option, and not the default.
Personally, I would get mad if I ever delete a file by mistake hitting the delete key while not holding Command.
