Writable FTP support will be a tremendous amount of work, but we’d love to add it to a future Path Finder upgrade.

I used to use ExpanDrive but it's gotten awful, at the moment I use ForkLift, but would be a very happy camper if it was inbuilt in PF, DirectoryOpus on Windows does it without making things overly complex.

actually you can't write with Connect to server. But I use MacFuse and sshfs. SANS MacFusion. if you guys could just include a bookmarking utility for MacFUSE that would get most of us there, I think. At least it would me :D

We can already do this with Connect to Server, and with PathFinder contextual menu plugins like that of Interarchy. I expect other popular FTP programs also have a plugin for PathFinder. So I'm not sure what people are actually looking for here. :S

I agree with Edward Caruso. There are already a lot of great FTP clients out there. Dragging and dropping files between Pathfinder and Cyberduck is pretty simple. I'd prefer Pathfinder not to get so complicated that looses it's usefulness is obscured by it's complexity and the bugs that go with more features.

Transmit is great and so is Cyberduck - especially since its free. There are other file-browsing features Pathfinder could add before an FTP client I think. Of course everyone has different tasks and workflows I respect that - but I dont want Pathfinder to be big and unwieldily like iTunes.

I would extent this request to include support for SFTP - secure FTP for both uploads and downloads

I agree strongly: PathFinder seems to have everything I may need to do with the files, only lacking FTP support. Please make your software perfect!

I am also waiting for PathFinder to include full FTP / FTP-TLS / SFTP-SSH type of access to buy it.

RBrowser.com is the best tool for that but it is only for that. PathFinder should use that principle of using ssh commands to perform actions on server so moving and archiving files on server happer in a snap.

It could be that it is huge undertaking but it is essential for new dimension of PathFinder that would elevate it as swiss knife tool for professionals.

Adding those features FTP / SFTP handling and performing ssh terminal in drawer would instantly move my cash to Path Finder.

Again, please make your software perfect!

This is one of the must have features that keeps me stalling on purchase, I've been spoiled by Directory Opus on Windows, and am holding off on many of it's features

I want to add my 2 cents for this feature. Every time I need FTP, it amazes me that the Mac doesn't already have a good solution (I don't count the command line as a good solution on the Mac), then I reach for PF. Of course, I then realize that it doesn't either. Sigh - although I don't need it often, it is painful to get around when I do. I'm tempted to buy something to do this, but I'd rather just have it in the tool that I use every day for file management.

Cyberduck never works well for me, Transmit is much better but i'd much rather have ftp support tighly integrated with path finder.

I'm happy that Path Finder will replace any standalone FTP client, hope that SCP, SFTP and FTPS will include also, Transmit features should be good inspiration.

Agree, also include webdav, I use this a lot for box.net. I actually set this up on a trial of Fork Lift and the webdav link to box.net still works under PF, but obviously I cannot change the settings now.

This is the one thing keeping me from buying Path Finder right now. I'm torn between Path Finder and Fork Lift. Please add this soon and I promise to buy your product.
