What I missed: If those 3 features come together:
1) select main folder
2) flatview that folder
3) configure that folder as "show icon" (sizable)
4) select on the fly through typing i.e. *.suffix or similarEffect is, you could easily manage tons of fotos, graphics, etc. with simple downselecting. My usually approach is for example "find all *.psd files within date x to y, wich got "3D" in its filename".
1) Folder flatview
2) change sort order to "date", descending
3) type in *3D*.psd
4) size shown icons so I can see which one is the right one -

That would be a very great improvement for me. I'm using this feature in DOpus for selecting images out of tons of folders/subfolders. DOpus got the additionally great feature to select on the fly, you just have to type in i.e.: *.psd and the flatview folder just shows all containing Photoshop files within all selected folders/subfolders.
Spares me hours every day (working as a graphicdesigner) - would be really, really happy, if this feature would be integrated in Pathfinder, for there's no other app, coming so near to DOpus.
