Syntax Coloring for Previews of Source Code
For the preview window, it would be totally awesome if it would do syntax coloring for items identified as source code - sort of in the line of the QLColorCode Quicklook generator (http://code.google.com/p/qlcolorcode/).

Folder Icon shows preview of Pictures in the folder
One item that the mac finder does not have that many people have commented about is the folder icon. Would it be possible to show a preview of images contained within that folder as the folder icon. There is a mac application called filebrowse. it does an elegant job doing this. however, it falls way short on any other functionality and is by no means a finder replacement. BTW, XP does this and many people converting from pc to mac miss this feature. You would be an even bigger hit. Also, I thought about putting together a small app that… more

Enable Quick Look of folder contents
When Quick View is used to view a folder, we see nothing but a large folder icon. We should be able to see the contents of the folder. This can be done a la the Terminal-enabled Finder feature called "X-Ray Folders," or a more utilitarian list view, or icons, etc.

Support OpenDocument files in Preview
Previewing documents is an essential function in PF. Support for OpenDocument files (ods, odt, ods) is not available yet. More and more this file format is recognised as the open standard of the future in businesses who don't want to be locked into MS products.

Open Office/Libre Office/NeoOffice preview abaility
Path Finder has the amazing ability to be able to preview a large variety of files, which saves time by not having to open the files.
I would like to be able to preview all my Open Office and Libre Office files.

Page through documents in Cover Flow view
In the original Finder I am able to run over pages in documents using the cover flow view.
It would be great having this feature in Path Finder.3 votes -
Allow control over Preview Pane
I'd like to be able to set the Preview Pane so that large files (user would would be able to define "large") do NOT preview. I often work with documents that are 1Gb in size, and Path Finder bogs down trying to render the preview of those files. Further, some file types will fit the preview to the Pane size, while others (PDF most notably) show at full size, requiring me to scroll around a lot in the Preview Pane.

FolderGlance compatibility
I used the contextual menu to drill down into a folder. However, there is no preview image when I reach the bottom layer.
FolderGlance offers me that feature, however it is not PathFinder compatible. The FG developer responded about PF compatibility: "I've looked into this before, but so far haven't found a way of adding FolderGlance to PathFinder. There are a number of differences that make it challenging, including the fact that the developers of PathFinder actively prevent you from attaching a debugger to their application. This makes developing extensions for PathFinder very difficult, since it may crash but you… more

read .eml files
In the preview pane, it would be useful if the contents of .eml files displayed properly, just as they are for most file formats.

EXIF Google Map display of Geo location (GPS, WiFi Positioning, etc) data in photos
Allow Path Finder to read JPEG, RAW files that contain EXIF info and display (or at least link) to map view of where the image was taken.
If Path Finder allowed EFIX editing of location (adding/changing) that would be bonus!

Provide settings to override Preview file size limits
For example, I am currently trying to organize a few thousand PDFs that are stored on a file server. The Preview option must be manually selected each time because the files are larger than the automatic Preview network file size limit. In my case, I know that my setup can handle a much larger limit, but there is no way to change it.

Option in Preview of Big PDF Files
The preview window should be able to detect when a large file, such as large pdf files (more than 5 or 6 MB), were selected in order not to block temporarily the Path Finder (sometimes several minutes) . Therefore, it could warn about possible consequences of continuing with that option

Disable Preview in Dual Pane Mode
I use dual pane mode to compare folder contents and copy/paste between them. What often makes this fantastic feature unusable is that the preview pane will get focused in the the left pane, which leaving the view that I really want which is the contents of the entire folder. It would be nice to be able to disable previews for the left pane so that all this jumping around does not occur.
